Configuration Notes:
* Use the standard 4MB memory module supplied with the computer or
PCSM 1490.
A An alternate would be to put PCSM 1290s into sockets 3 and 4 in
addition to the 4MB memory modules in sockets 1 and 2.
IBM PS/2 MODEL 80
An Above Board MC (PSMB 5300) can provide true 32-bit memory from an
expansion slot for these IBM PS/2 Model 80s.
There currently are NOT any Intel Matched Memory module products that
can upgrade motherboard memory in these IBM PS/2 Model 80 because of
the design of these PS/2 Model 80 system boards. There aren't any
SIMM-type sockets on these motherboards. IBM relies on its
proprietary memory boards or a third party memory board in an
expansion slot (such as an Above Board MC) to add more memory to
these systems.
IBM PS/2 MODEL 90-0J5, 0J9, 0KD
These PS/2 Model 90 computers come standard with two 2MB memory
modules on the system board. These system boards and are expandable
to 32MB.
